Bring the problem you want solved. We’ll shape it into a project brief you can keep — or let AI draft a first approach.
AI can help a quality team find and organize information. The useful starting point is a specific information task: finding a procedure, extracting a field or preparing a draft from reviewed records. A broad request to “automate QC” leaves the important boundaries undefined.
This article describes proposed engineering approaches, not measured customer results or a claim of regulatory approval.
Consider a team looking for the current procedure for a sample handoff. A useful assistant should return a relevant passage, its document identifier and its version. A fluent answer without an inspectable source does not solve the underlying evidence problem.
For extraction, show the source location next to the proposed value. If a unit is missing or a field cannot be read reliably, route it to a person. A confidence score alone should not silently authorize the next operational step.
Document the approved sources, the owner of each source and the roles permitted to read them. Decide what happens when the relevant document is superseded, absent or restricted. Specify which actions require review and which actions the assistant cannot perform.
Permission checks belong in the retrieval and response path. Hiding a document in the interface is insufficient if its content remains available to the system returning answers.
Build a small evaluation set with ordinary questions, ambiguous questions, obsolete procedures and questions with no supported answer. Include a role that should not see the source. Review whether the returned passage supports the answer, rather than simply checking whether a citation is present.
Track unsupported answers, incorrect citations and reviewer corrections. Agree on acceptance criteria before expanding beyond the pilot. These are project evaluation measures, not promised performance figures.
Document search is different from determining a root cause, accepting a result or releasing material. The workflow should preserve those distinctions in its permissions and interface.
Try the synthetic document-search demo to inspect a passage and explore simulated role restrictions. It uses deterministic topic matching, not live AI. For a private project, explore pharma AI and document assistants and document management.
